Abstract: The impact of applying the Dynamic Assessment thought a mediated learning experience developed by Dr. Reuven Feuerstein as an interactive approach to learn the English language for the students of Unidad Educativa El Camino. The study aimed to define Dr. Feuerstein’s approach to develop the learning potential of the students, establishing principles of application for the Dynamic Assessment thought a mediated learning experience and estimating learning potential on the basis of current performance through the application of a preliminary evaluation to analyze the dynamics of the learning process considering the interaction between teacher and the student. The approach consists on the application of a pre-test and a post-test to evaluate the learning conditions after the mediated learning experience, this methodology allows the teacher to strength and to improve the learning process taking into account the specific capabilities and skills of the students. The study show that the experimental application of the Dynamic Assessment improved the process of learning English, boosting the scores of the students. The mediated learning experience provided an individual interaction with the student. After the mediation, the instructor found that despite the fact that not all of the students developed a need of reflective thinking or disposition for conceptual thinking, the use of the methodology corrected and eliminated cognitive inefficiencies, improving the abilities of the students and developing intrinsic motivation. The Dynamic Assessment through a mediated learning experience was proposed for all the teachers of the Unidad Educativa El Camino in order to improve learning results.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZUse of mobile learning activities to improve the low level in speaking skill in the tenth year of EGB at ‘Gran Colombia’ high school, in Quito, during the first term, September 2016 – November 2016Calvache Cueva, Jeanneth del Rocíohttp://repositorio.espe.edu.ec/handle/21000/145562018-07-05T08:15:18Z2018-01-01T00:00:00ZTítulo : Use of mobile learning activities to improve the low level in speaking skill in the tenth year of EGB at ‘Gran Colombia’ high school, in Quito, during the first term, September 2016 – November 2016

Abstract: Researchers around the world are dealing with the fact that education is changing by leaps and bounds, which means that teachers have to rethink their way to teach their students. As EFL teachers the challenge is more difficult because teachers have to face with other problems as the scarce of language input, students' demotivation, low level of English, etc. For this reason, this study was thought to help teachers to deal with those problems that are affecting the teaching-learning process. For the purpose of this study, mobile phones were considered as a technological tool to make students empower of their learning process and overcoat that they are able to construct their own knowledge through mobile learning activities adapted according to their level, needs and interests. In other words, as mobile phones are easy to carry them in a pocket, bag or any other place and have a number of applications (photos, videos, audios, etc.), it was possible the implementation of mobile learning activities that encourage students to participate actively in class. Moreover, some worksheets were used to accomplish the objectives of this study due to the fact that students had a low level of English. They served as a pattern, once students understand what and how to fulfil an activity they did not need more support. As this is a field study, it was conducted on forty students of tenth year of EGB attending high school. The methodology for data collection encompassed a pre-test and post-test, a quantitative analysis and the use of Z-score. Findings of this study are of relevant importance for other teachers and researchers that are interested in innovating classroom activities with new ideas, methods and with the use of technological devices.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZEnglish songs to develop the speaking and listening skills in teenagers with visual impairments at “Unidad Educativa Internacional Pensionado Atahualpa” during the school year 2016-2017Zamora Villota, Andrea Estefanyhttp://repositorio.espe.edu.ec/handle/21000/136612017-11-25T08:13:54Z2017-01-01T00:00:00ZTítulo : English songs to develop the speaking and listening skills in teenagers with visual impairments at “Unidad Educativa Internacional Pensionado Atahualpa” during the school year 2016-2017

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of the songs in English on the ability to hear and speak the English language in adolescents with visual disabilities at "Unidad Educativa Internacional Pensionado Atahualpa” during the school year 2016-2017, where different strategies and techniques were used for getting improvements in the listening and speaking skills of English language. I can emphasize that it was a benefit for the students, due to the songs, it gives an interactive environments for blind children, and that helps to solve the problem about listening and speaking skills. Language learning is even more important for visually impaired people, in order to reduce the gap caused by lack of sight or from severe visual impairment. I had considerated to use didactic songs repetitively and I measured the students` English level, and the development of their skills. I can emphasize that this is the age of the technology and I could find practically many songs on this website and it was a great idea to teach in this way. The attitude took by the teachers face to this process was so important and interesting, in order to sensitize the importance to be given when include people with SEN (special educational needs) in regular classrooms, and thus it makes this task fulfilled as satisfactorily as possible. Learning a second language in students with visual impairments is possible when a teacher uses the appropriate techniques and when the suitable curricular adaptations are well applied.2017-01-01T00:00:00ZDigital story telling, and its impact in the development of speaking skills of english language in the students of third year of Bachillerato at Instituto Los Andes during the school year 2015-2016Rivera Freire, Wimper Humbertohttp://repositorio.espe.edu.ec/handle/21000/134702017-09-25T08:11:34Z2017-01-01T00:00:00ZTítulo : Digital story telling, and its impact in the development of speaking skills of english language in the students of third year of Bachillerato at Instituto Los Andes during the school year 2015-2016

Abstract: El Instituto Los Andes is located in Pillaro town in the province of Tungurahua; it is a public educational institution, in which there are 1600 students from the elementary until the third year of Bachillerato. The objectives of this research project have been built with the help of technology as the Digital Story Telling in order to get an integral solution to the low development of the speaking skills in the English foreign language classroom with the students of third year of Bachillerato. The problems with the speaking skills are inhibition, nothing to produce in the English; in this case, there is no production of speaking and writing skills of this foreign language; low participation, and native language use. In the same way, it will help to build a virtual learning environment that will be applied in the learning teaching process, in which there are, strategies to increase the knowledge of the speaking skill of the English language by the use of the social nets. The results obtained in the research work let to know that the students use social nets but they cannot apply as an educational tool, or as a virtual learning environment to facilitate the learning teaching process. In the first part, it presents a brief description of the problem, the participants in the research project and the objectives. After this, the information about the virtual learning environment, advantages in the educative process are described. The speaking skills are explained in some stages to understand the problems that the students have in the ability. The data collection in this research was done to evaluate the speaking skills. Here it shows the results obtained, and finally it shows the importance in education.2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
